Ranch Dressing 2 Ways

There are some things that just taste magical when they’re homemade and ranch dressing is one of those things. There really is no comparison. Cool and creamy and bursting with fresh herbs and garlic, it makes any veggie sing! Even little fingers like it!

One thing few people know about me is that I spent a stint in my life as a plant-based vegan… insert GASP! Yes a vegan. As a vegan I encountered the struggle that is ranch dressing. I loathed all store bought vegan ranch dressings with a passion. The only way was to create my own. I have decided to include it here, because some days, when I don’t have sour cream, I still make this for my family. They like it just as well.

Original Ranch

12 servings, .4 carbs per serving

1 cup good mayo, homemade or store bought, your choice

3 heaping tbs sour cream

1 tbs rice wine vinegar, I feel this works best, you can experiment with what you have

1 clove of finely minced garlic, grating works well too if you have the patience

1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley

1/4 cup finely chopped dill

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp cracked black pepper, or a couple of grinds

1/3 cup of water or till desired consistency

  1. Prep and measure ingredients and add to bowl.
  2. Let chill for at least 2 hours
  3. Enjoy… its pretty simple
